Get enough sleep. This means a minimum of seven to eight hours of sleep every night. This is important as your body needs to rest and recharge. When you feel tired , it makes you irritable , reduces your ability to be rational and this leads to an increase in stress levels.

Express yourself. A major cause of stress is the inability to properly express your opinions and lack of assertiveness in your daily interactions. Learning to express displeasure, joy , sadness and the wide range of human emotions existing within us can cause one to bottle up a lot of negativity. This translates to increased stress levels. Self expression is key for stress reduction in our daily lives.

Limit the amount of time you spend with people who stress you. This means cutting down on time with colleagues, friends or any people who bring negativity into your so as to enhance your well being. It is okay to be selfish every once in a while if in the end you find a little peace and happiness. If you cannot limit the amount of time you spend with your stressors then learn to control how you react to them. You cannot control what happens to you but you can control how you react to what life throws your way.
